What's Holding Back From The Item Upgrading Industry?

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons more effective. You can get them from the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. They can also be rescued from equipment that contains them, or through an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when you remove them from an item.

The primary function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to increase the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. For instance, a specially designed glyph will increase the chances of upgrading its target, whereas a boost upgrade will increase the attack or defense quality of a weapon or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are gathered.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded using the component. For instance, organic components offer more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade using organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then move to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with an upgrade maximum number that can be received. The number of upgrades is determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is tier 10. However, the most popular weapon upgrades are an tier 6 weapon as well as an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that all share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased a bit more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item it will have one of its additional stats will be increased randomly.

Upgrades can also boost a weapon's damage base. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It's possible to increase the value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.

If the item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled once, and then its guarantee will be reset to zero. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as bringing an item up, but the upgraded item will come with additional bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought by using Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.

Rerolling

If players have enough rerolling tokens, they can reroll any item that they've acquired during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens are available from the store for an amount of in-game currency. However, they aren't refundable. The new item will come with the same bonus features as the previous one, but the statistics will also differ.

In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any item by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who own the equipment.

Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. This will cost a set amount of crests and Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and item type. In the case of weapons, each upgrade will add an additional five percent to the damage.

Upgrading an item can boost its power however it can reduce its effectiveness. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded in order to reach their potential. For instance one player might wish to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can become.

The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to get a specific weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming to acquire and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only alternatives are to spend real money or grind extensively. Rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was designed to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since the majority of gear is replaced fairly quickly and can only be upgraded one level, you'll typically replace it before it is too old. It's not worth it to level items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will be greater than the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

If you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the item level. The costs will vary between armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. In addition, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For example the weapon that has an increase of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.

In addition to the base ilvl boost it will also get upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating. These increases are built on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can determine the amount of damage or defense that the item will be able to sustain when it is upgraded. This is shown below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, gain these stats upon leveling up.  item upgrader  will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor like circlets and tiaras.
